Braydon Brouwer (Owner) - Raised just outside the Valley in a little area called Merville, has been involved in the valley for the majority of his life. He started kindergarden at Tsolum (now NIDES) and transferred to Miracle Beach when Tsolum closed down. Entering grade 8 Braydon moved schools where he got his highschool diploma from G.P. Vanier. He worked on a handful of farms, being known for his work ethic and his ability to problem solve. Highly engaged with sports growing up, he was offered a volleyball Scholarship from many universities around the country. He followed his older brothers footsteps and took his talents to Vancouver Island University, achieving some of the highest awards athletes can achieve. He graduated in 2020 with a Kinesiology Degree, looking to take his talents over seas. Covid halted his pursuits and he found him self in Kamloops, BC, working as a Kinesiologist. With the challenges of a new business in a pandemic, he came back to the Island to do work with his best friend, who was one of the best hands in roofing. Learning the ins and outs of roofing, Braydon fell in love with how homeowners responded to his charisma and work. He is known for how much he cares and how fast he learns, providing the perfect traits to become the top of his class. To maximize his impact, he partnered up with two brothers - Ty and Clay Hamp.

Ty Hamp (Owner) - The older brother of the two. His parents and Grandparents grew up in the Comox Valley but his childhood was different. He was born in Thailand and grew up in Chengdu, China. He went to a international private school where he learned and developed into a top learner. He has been on the Deans list for the majority of his academics. He wasn’t just an academic either. Ty pursued soccer at a high performance level, becoming one of the top strikers in southern China. He moved to Ontario for the summer of 2019 to roof with one of his childhood friends family, and learned the basics of roofing. September 2019 he moved to the Valley where he attended North Island College pursuing a Business Degree. After his second year of schooling, he decided to take the next few years off to build his skills and wait till schooling was back in person. With his time away from school, he took his learnings and applied it to the real world where he created an online business. His hunger for continuous learning brought him back to roofing, a physical job that would compliment and fund his business ventures. His love for learning allowed him to stay focused on continuous improvement, while his work ethic provided the energy to create top quality work.

Clay Hamp (Owner) - The younger brother of the two. A lot like his older brother, Ty, his childhood was overseas. With a year and half different in age, Clay and Ty were, and still are, inseparable. Everything Ty did, Clay was not far behind. In the sporting world, Clay was one of the top long distance runners in Canada, claiming a 3rd place at provincials with zero coaching or training. After graduating top of his class in 2020, Clay was looking to take his brains to some of the top schools in the world to pursue a degree in business. When covid started, he made a decision to move to the valley to live with his family, where he decided to take his 1st year of business at North Island College. A lot like Ty, Clay also did not want to do school online. He went into business with his brother and also joined the same roofing crew. Clay is known to be extremely calm and patient, which is perfect for the detailed, finishing work that top roofers are known for. Clay is someone that when faced with a challenge, will think extremely logical to overcome any obstacle.

Who are we?

We are Barococo Contracting. It all started back in 2020 where Braydon, Ty, and Clay found each other while working for another local roofing business - Timberline Roofing. It was there where they learned how to deliver an outstanding finished product, while building a system that allows for maximum efficiency and top quality.

All three partners were high level team athletes that understand how to work in a team setting and lead teams to success. The Hamp brothers lead their Division 1 soccer teams to top finishes in multiple seasons and Braydon lead his University volleyball team to multiple medals at the provincial and national level. Being leaders on sports teams forced them to each over come obstacles that have developed them into men that think logically and think of their team/clients before themselves.

They have brought the same mindset and work ethic to Barococo Contracting - a company that will work extremely hard, think logically, make the right decision on unforeseen obstacles and work together to provide you with top quality service… all while smiling and having fun.
